Owls of Massachusetts: What Makes an Owl?

Description

Owls are built for navigating and hunting in a nocturnal world. In this introductory course on owls, discover why the Barred Owl has such excellent aquatic hunting skills, why Eastern Screech-Owls breed late in winter, and how Short-eared Owls rely on hearing as they close in on prey. New research and population monitoring are helping scientists unravel long-held questions about owls, and you will come away knowing the best times, locations, and methods for observing them yourself.

This program is part of the online Owls of Massachusetts Series. Each session stands alone, but if you register for the series before it begins, you get all four sessions for the price of three.
