Description
Nantucket is a fantastic birding destination with a quaint town and stunning lighthouses which create a picturesque setting for our exploration. The island's heathlands, moors, bays, ponds, and forests shelter a diversity of bird species. Expected highlights include viewing massive flocks of sea ducks, large concentrations of gulls, a variety of waterfowl in open freshwater ponds, soaring raptors, evening owls, and a variety of sea birds. Many songbirds find the mild climate perfect to overwinter, including Hermit Thrush, Eastern Towhee, and Yellow-rumped and Pine warblers. Early migrants including Piping Plover, American Oystercatcher, and Tree Swallow will also be arriving.

Space is limited. A nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $175 per person must accompany registration. Final payment is due January 22, 2027. Fee includes hotel accommodations, round-trip van transportation from Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary, ferry transportation, and field instruction. Participants are responsible for meals, snacks, tips, and personal items.
