Birding by Habitat: Cities and Towns

Cities and towns are more alive with birds than most people realize, and once you know what to look for, urban birding can be a world of its own. Explore the variety of species that have adapted to urban environments, from Peregrine Falcons hunting off building ledges, to Black-crowned Night Herons working park ponds, to House Finches filling urban gardens with song and more. You'll also learn what makes certain birds so successful in developed landscapes, and what urban birdwatchers and city planners can do to make cities more welcoming to wildlife.

This program is part of the Birding by Habitat Online Series. Each session stands alone, but if you register for the whole series before it starts on October 6, you get all six sessions for the price of five. Other session topics include salt marshes, woodlands, grasslands and more.
