Description
Grassland birds are some of Massachusetts' most at-risk species, and their declining numbers tell the story of their vanishing habitat. Discover the ecology of grasslands and the birds that depend on them for breeding: Bobolinks, Eastern Meadowlarks, Savannah Sparrows, and state-listed endangered species like Upland Sandpipers and Grasshopper Sparrows.
Learn how grassland bird habitat is created and lost, and how conservation and restoration work across the Commonwealth is helping to bring it back.
This program is part of the Birding by Habitat Online Series. Each session stands alone, but if you register for the whole series before it starts on October 6, you get all six sessions for the price of five. Other session topics include salt marshes, woodlands, shrublands and more.
Recordings will be sent to registrants after the program.
