Birds of Massachusetts: Hawk Migration

Description

Every autumn millions of hawks migrate south, providing the best opportunities to see them in flight. However, identifying hawks soaring across the sky at a distance poses many more challenges than seeing them perched or close-up in photos. Discover how to identify the most commonly seen New England hawks, and gain tips on how to recognize them from afar. Next time you venture out, you'll know where and when to look for hawks and how to identify what you find.

Each Birds of Massachusetts session stands alone, but if you register for the full series before it starts on April 21, you get all 6 sessions for the price of 5. Recordings will be sent to registrants after each program.

Meet Your Presenter: Paul M. Roberts has been studying hawks, their migration, and identification for several decades. He founded the Eastern Mass Hawk Watch (1976) and is past president of the NorthEast Hawk Watch.
