Description
No summer is complete without the magical view of fireflies lighting up a field or meadow. Find out how and why fireflies light up, how to identify species by their flash patterns, and what they're communicating with each flicker of light. Explore how lighting bugs illuminate environmental issues like climate change, habitat loss, light pollution, and pollinator protection. Familiarize yourself with the community science activity of firefly watching and Firefly Atlas.
Each Nature of Massachusetts session stands alone, but if you register for the full series before it starts on April 16, you get all 6 sessions for the price of 5. Recordings will be sent to registrants after each program.
