Description
No car? No problem! Take the Red Line to Ashmont and walk down to the Neponset River, where waterfowl, gulls, and songbirds thrive in the winter.
A naturalist will guide you as you sharpen your ID skills and learn what different birds do to survive the season, from the ducks out on the water to the sparrows flitting about the brush along the bank. Pick up the telltale signs, behaviors, and sounds that will help you differentiate birds in their winter plumage. You'll begin to see public transportation as a pathway to discovery and develop a deeper sense of belonging with the environments we pass by every day.
