Late Winter Bird Walk

Description

Late February is when the year's first bird song starts turning up in the park, weeks ahead of the leaves. On this guided walk, listen for resident birds beginning to sing and claim territory while the winter visitors are still around, including Golden-crowned Kinglets, Dark-eyed Juncos, and Fox Sparrows.

A naturalist will help you sort out the songs and calls you are hearing and identify what you are seeing. Plus, keep an eye on the sky for the Peregrine Falcons that nest nearby and appear over the park throughout the year. All experience levels welcome.

Checking registration status.
