T-Stop Trek: Fens in the Fall

Description

No car? No problem! Hop on the Green Line to explore one of Boston's most historically layered landscapes, the Back Bay Fens. Starting from the Northeastern T-stop, a naturalist guide will lead you through this storied urban wetland.

Watch for late-season migrating birds and waterfowl gathering on the water, lingering fall foliage, and seed heads dispersing. As you walk, learn about the Fens' role within the Emerald Necklace and how urban green spaces can support biodiversity, climate resilience, and community connection. See public transportation as a pathway to discovery and develop a deeper sense of belonging with the environments we pass by every day.
