Description
There are medicinal and edible plants hiding in plain sight if you know where to look. On a guided walk through the park, you'll learn to identify common plants that can be found in urban areas in the summer and explore their traditional medicinal uses.
Along the way, we'll responsibly gather a small selection of herbs to brew into herbal tea back in the nature center. As we sip, we'll talk about each herb's uses, flavors, and unique qualities, and discuss responsible foraging practices.
Please note that collecting plants on DCR properties is not generally permitted. This is a special opportunity for our group to carefully gather some wild plants under the guidance of an herbalist.
