Owls Up Close & In the Wild

Description

Meet a live owl ambassador from Blue Hills Trailside Museum, learning what makes these birds beloved icons and successful nighttime hunters before stepping out onto the sanctuary trails with a guide. Great Horned Owls, Barred Owls, and Eastern Screech-Owls are all known to frequent the MABA Education Center Wildlife Sanctuary. Winter evenings during the beginning of nesting season, when they are most vocal and active, is an opportune time for a chance encounter.

Dress warmly and bring your sense of wonder.

Checking registration status.

What To Expect

All children must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the program. The evening begins indoors with the live owl and then moves outside onto the sanctuary trails after dark, so expect uneven footing in low light.

In the event of severe weather conditions, the program may be cancelled or postponed.

More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
