A Nature Year at The Nest at the MABA Education Center: Summer (3 Months)
Description
Immerse yourself in a Summer of local natural history. With a skilled Mass Audubon naturalist as your guide, experience the cycle of the seasons at Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary. Gain extensive natural history knowledge, form community with like-minded, curious adults, and receive the many benefits of spending time outdoors.
Throughout the Summer, we'll delve into milkweed and their insect village, explore sounds and activities of nocturnal animals, and discover the ecology of butterflies, moths, and the plants on which they rely.
Summer 2026 Schedule*

3 sessions, 2 hours each
Third Wednesday of June and July, and the second Wednesday of August, 2026.
June 17th, 10am-12pm: Milkweed and the Milkweed Insect Village
July 15th, 7pm-9pm: Night Sounds, Night Life, Evening Walk
August 12th, 10am-12pm: Butterflies, Moths, and Host Plants

Instructions
We will usually start inside with an introduction and then head out for our adventure in the field which will be at least 90 minutes outside. We'll travel mainly on trails and boardwalks, actively exploring and experiencing various habitats and sanctuary spots.
