Description
Oysters are as interesting as they are delicious. Learn the biology of the oyster, as well as their role in the ecosystem and local conservation efforts. After a brief talk in the Discovery Center, we will walk out to the mudflats of Long Pasture to visit with Barnstable Sea Farms owner Les Hemmila. The tour will conclude with a lesson on how to shuck these tasty treats!
This is an outdoor tour. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. This tour will run in rain but will be cancelled for high winds or lightening storms. We recommend that you wear shoes that can get wet and in which you can safely walk down uneven, muddy steps to the flats.
