Description
Kayak through Barnstable Harbor to one of Cape Cod's most fascinating—and usually off-limits—destinations. Mass Audubon has exclusive access to Sandy Neck Lighthouse, and this guided trip includes the opportunity to enjoy the sweeping 360-degree view from the top.
Explore tidal creeks and salt marsh edges while naturalists point out shorebirds, Osprey, horseshoe crabs, and other wildlife. Because open water, tides, and wind can be factors, recent paddling experience and comfort spending extended time on the water is required.

Instructions
This trip meets and leaves from Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary. Arrive 10 minutes early; ending times are approximate and may run long due to tide, wind, and group experience level. Mass Audubon provides boats, paddles, life jackets (required), and small dry bags; tandem kayaks are preferred for open water and strong currents, and participants may bring their own kayak. Bring water, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, a windbreaker, a towel, and a snack; there are no restrooms or water fountains during the trip.
