Natural Paper-making Workshop

Description

Learn how to make natural paper from both native and invasive plants in this two-day workshop with Great Marsh Artist and Manship Fellow, Michele Brody.

First, using plants already gathered in advance, learn how to identify local plants species and how to prepare the stalks and reeds for pounding and beating into pulp.

Then, get your hands wet while learning how to pull a sheet of your own handmade paper. Get creative and embellish your paper with found leaves and flowers or any personal items you would like to bring, such as photographs, locally dried plants of your own, or found images from printed materials.

Over the two-day course, you will get a chance to sip Mugwort tea, view a presentation of Brody's artwork, and discuss the impact of our changing climate on native and non-native plants.
