Description
Winter has its own soundtrack at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, and this slow morning walk is designed to help you hear it. Listen for the rattling call of the Red-bellied Woodpecker and the deep, resonant hammering of the Pileated Woodpecker echoing through the trees, while Northern Cardinals, White-breasted Nuthatches, and Tufted Titmice work the branches for hidden seeds.
Between birds, your guide will introduce you to the art of track identification, showing you how to read the stories mammals leave behind in the mud and frost. Whether you're a seasoned birder or just starting out, this program offers an unhurried way to experience the quieter pleasures of the natural world in December.
