Description
October fungi have their own kind of magic. Look through the leaf litter, under fallen logs, or at the base of trees, and you'll find shapes and colors that stop you in your tracks. This program at Cedar Pond Wildlife Sanctuary in Wenham teaches you to find and identify wild mushrooms and other fungi safely using field resources and guided observation.
Keep your binoculars ready for newly arrived Dark-eyed Juncos and White-throated Sparrows—reliable signs of fall's arrival—as the foliage provides a vivid backdrop. It's a morning for slowing down and looking closely.
