What does it take to keep a periwinkle snail well-fed? How about a Jonah crab or a moon snail? At this program at Joppa Flats, families become animal caretakers for the late afternoon, working alongside our team to sort, identify, and feed the live marine creatures in our aquarium tanks.

Offer sea lettuce to the periwinkles, fish flakes to the minnows, and krill to the Jonah Crabs using tweezers while learning the fascinating behaviors that make each species unique.

This program takes place after hours when the center is closed to the public, giving you an intimate and unhurried experience with creatures that most visitors only glimpse through glass.
