Ipswich River Nature Preschool Summer Program: Eating the Rainbow

Description

The Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary is proud to offer our nature preschool for 3-7 year olds located at the Endicott Wildlife Sanctuary in Wenham. Launched in September 2015, our nature preschool features highly qualified teachers with backgrounds in early childhood and nature education and a nature-based, emergent curriculum which promotes language, math, and social development. At Ipswich River Nature Preschool, we believe that a child learns best when exposed to nature on a consistent basis. Through multi-sensory explorations and cooperative play, our nature-based program nurtures each child's inborn curiosity.

Purple Beans, sun gold tomatoes and ruby red beets from the garden are a few of the colorful vegetables ready for harvesting from our raised bed gardens during the end of July. At Eating the Rainbow Week, we will make salads, pickles, and other tasty garden snacks. The children will work with teachers to create their own farmer's market of produce and flowers to share with friends and families. In addition, teachers will share outdoor games and gardening stories.
