Description
The best time to catch beavers in action is right at dusk, when these normally elusive master engineers emerge to go about their work. This evening walk follows the Rockery Trail into the wetlands as the sun sets, searching for an active beaver lodge, listening for the dramatic slap of a tail on the pond's surface, and looking for the telltale signs of beaver activity along the water's edge.
Along the way, you might also spot a Great Blue Heron hunting in the shallows, hear frogs calling, or find a turtle settling in for the night. It's a rich, living snapshot of why wetland habitats are so essential to the health of our landscapes.
