Description
Most trees have shed their leaves by December, but some keep the forest green throughout the winter.
Get to know your local evergreens, starting with free play at themed activity stations including sensory bins, puzzles, and coloring. Then, settle in for a storybook reading and songs about winter trees. After, head outside for a short walk to explore which trees have kept their needles, learn why, and take a closer look at their distinctive shapes and textures. After the walk, make a craft inspired by the season's most persistent plants to take home.
This is a playful, relaxed opportunity to gently introduce your budding nature explorer to the outdoors while connecting with other caregivers in a welcoming environment.
