A Birding Year at Habitat: Winter (3 months)

Winter's open scenery makes spotting birds easier than ever as resident species settle in and visitors from the north fill the quiet landscape. Discover the birds of the season with three monthly sessions, each focusing on a species or topic indicative of the time of year. Discover which birds overwinter at Habitat and how to find them, explore owls and the skills for spotting them in the low light, and learn the remarkable survival strategies that help birds stay active through the cold months. You'll build your field identification skills, expand your knowledge of bird behavior and conservation needs, and connect with a community of fellow birders.

We will always begin with a short introduction indoors before heading out to explore the trails with our naturalists as your guide. You'll observe these birds and their habitats in the wild, use field guides, look at specimens up close, and more.
