Fall Foraging for Herbal Tea

Description

Dandelion, garlic mustard, red clover, and more: nature is filled with plants that have fed and healed people for centuries. Take an early fall walk through the sanctuary with a naturalist guide, identifying common wild edibles and exploring the significance of different plants to communities locally and around the world. Learn about the roles they play in the ecosystem, including how to recognize invasive ones.

After the walk, the group will make and share an herbal tea from the day's collection, engaging in conversation about sustainable foraging practices. Please note that collecting plants outside of our community gardens is not generally allowed. This is a unique opportunity for our group to carefully gather some wild plants under the guidance of a field teacher.
