Description
Berries, flowers, and herbs are at their peak in summer, and there are so many delicious ones hiding in plain sight. A naturalist will lead participants in a walk around the sanctuary, identifying wild edibles along the trail and sharing how communities near and far have preserved and used these plants for generations.
After the walk, the group will craft an herbal jam from what we've gathered, supplemented with additional berries as the season allows. You'll leave with a tasty preserve and feeling more connected to the local landscape.
Please note that collecting plants outside of our community gardens is not generally allowed. This is a unique opportunity for our group to carefully gather some wild plants under the guidance of a field teacher.
