Herbal Tea Foraging

Description

From native wildflowers like goldenrod and jewelweed to invasive plants like multiflora rose, summer brings along blooms with long histories of human use. On this wellness walk, a naturalist will guide participants in identifying the season's flowering plants, exploring the cultural and ecological connections different communities have formed with each one.

After foraging a small selection along the trail, the group will brew and share an herbal tea made from the day's findings. Explore how building a relationship with local plants can deepen our connection to the landscape and inspire us to protect it.

Please note that collecting plants outside of our community gardens is not generally allowed. This is a unique opportunity for our group to carefully gather some wild plants under the guidance of a field teacher.
