A Nature Year at Habitat: Spring Series (3-Months)
Description
Immerse yourself in a season of local natural history! With a skilled Mass Audubon naturalist as your guide, experience the cycle of the seasons at Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary in Belmont and gain extensive natural history knowledge--all while receiving the many benefits of spending time outdoors.
Each month, you will focus on a special topic, natural community, or seasonal phenomenon. In this spring series, you'll investigate how ecosystems change as the world wakes from its winter slumber. Learn about the natural processes behind the time-honored tradition of maple sugaring, observe spring ephemerals and the different strategies plants employ to get the growing season started, and search vernal pools for the unique wildlife that rely on their ephemeral ecosystems. There might be an occasional change in timing or topic depending on what nature provides.
