Description
American Woodcocks are unique "upland" shorebirds, which nest in forested habitat. In early spring male woodcocks make their way to field edges to court, filling the last hours of daylight with spectacular aerial displays. Listen for their unusual call and watch as they rocket up 100 feet or more and zigzag back to earth. Come join us as we attempt to view this amazing rite of early spring. Along the way we will look and listen for other crepuscular and nocturnal creatures like beavers and owls.
