Description
Discover the delightful art of harvesting medicinal herbs for fresh tea! We will start with a walk around the farm, woods, and fields, learning about the medicinal uses of the plants we find. We will harvest as we go and bring our gathered samples back with us to make a delicious herbal tea. Collecting plants outside of our gardens and farm areas is not generally allowed, so this is a unique opportunity for our group to carefully gather some wild plants on the sanctuary under the guidance of an herbalist. We'll sip on our foraged concoction while learning about the uses, flavors, and energies of different tea herbs. This class will be a mix of play and exploration, botany and science.
Mo Katz-Christy (they/them), an herbalist from Cambridge, MA, approaches herbalism by connecting folks to the knowledge they already have about their body and herbs through working with kitchen medicine, ancestral traditions, and mulberries falling on the sidewalk! Mo graduated from a three-year clinical herbalism program at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism in 2022 and works one-on-one with clients to address imbalances and to build long-term healing.
