Teen Birders: Spring Birding on the Pond

Description

Our annual teen birding trip to Horn Pond is a beloved tradition! Join fellow teen birders for a day of discovery as we explore this diverse natural area, home to shaded woodlands, wetlands, and open water. These rich habitats support a wide variety of bird species, making Horn Pond a top destination during spring and fall migration.

Meander around the pond to observe songbirds, wading birds, waterfowl, and maybe an owl. Possible species include Pied-billed Grebe, Palm Warbler, Blue-headed Vireo, Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Rusty Blackbird, and Barred Owl. Each year, this trip brings exciting surprises and often turns up a rare find.
