Description
Long before the winery or the brewery, there was mead: one of humanity's oldest fermented beverages made from honey. In this workshop, Drumlin Farm's own beekeeper Mel Gadd will lead you through the art and science of mead making, starting with a visit to our working hives to see where the process begins.
Sample a variety of honeys and finished meads along the way, then make your own bottle from scratch using honey harvested right here on the farm. Mel will walk you through what happens next—mead takes several weeks to ferment, so you'll leave with a bottle in progress and instructions to complete the process at home.
Open to adults 21+ only.
