Description
As colorful leaves emerge in fall, so do the caterpillars! In early fall, many caterpillars wander about in search of places to overwinter. Guided by a naturalist, walk through meadows and gardens in search of caterpillars like the iconic woolly bear. Learn how to find them, what they're eating, and what winged creatures they'll eventually become.
Finish by reading a storybook to tie the life cycle together and making a caterpillar-themed craft to take home. This turns an early autumn walk into a scavenger hunt, connecting young kids to the natural world.

Meet at the Nature Center. Additional instructions will be sent via email a few days prior to the program. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray. Expect to walk along paved paths as well as dirt and wooded trails.
