Description
When fall migration peaks, community gardens and small farms become secret hotspots for warblers, sparrows, and more. On this teen birding outing, you'll visit several sites across Middlesex County where migrating songbirds concentrate as they fuel up for their journey south.
Look for a variety of warblers and sparrows, getting practice identifying them in their fall plumage, and scan overhead for migrating hawks. Rarities show up at these spots regularly in fall, so come ready for anything. Camera-friendly landscapes and gorgeous views make this a great outing for birding and photography alike.

This program departs and returns to Drumlin Farm. Bring binoculars if you have them—loaners are available, just ask. If you have a camera, these are great spots for bird photos. Wear footwear appropriate for paths that may be muddy. Bring a snack and water. Restrooms are available at Drumlin Farm prior to the trip; port-a-pots are available on the trip.
