Intermediate Beekeeping

Description

Ready to move beyond the basics and become a more confident, capable beekeeper? This intermediate program is designed for beekeepers who want to deepen their skills, explore a wider range of management options, and feel at home inside the hive. Whether you're tackling persistent challenges, aiming to strengthen your colonies, or eager to learn alongside other passionate beekeepers, this course offers practical guidance and hands-on insight. We'll dive into swarm prevention and management, making splits, successful overwintering strategies, pest and disease identification and treatment, and time-tested 'tricks of the trade.' You'll learn how to read your colonies, respond to their changing needs, and build a healthy, sustainable apiary with confidence. This course is ideal for beekeepers who have completed an introductory beekeeping course and have maintained a hive for at least one full season.

Open to adults and youth ages 14 and up when accompanied by an adult.
