Description
What is a mushroom anyway? Can you distinguish a polypore from a gilled mushroom? Explore Drumlin Farm with an experienced Mycologist to discover the diversity of local fungi and get familiar with where they grow. Learn about the crucial and sometimes surprising roles these fascinating life forms play in the ecosystem, and practice methods for identifying them in the field. Afterwards, head over to Jack's Abby Brewery to socialize with fellow fungi enthusiasts! The terrain will be mostly level with gentle inclines. There may be roots, rocks and puddles.
Jef Taylor is a mycologist and naturalist who has worked with Mass Audubon for over a decade.
