Description
Broadmoor's wetlands are shaped in large part by a very fuzzy engineer: the beaver. Explore the sanctuary in search of active and abandoned beaver lodges, look for signs like chewed stumps and dams, and learn how a single beaver family can transform an entire landscape.
You might even catch one of the animals themselves swimming in the marsh or working on repairing their dam after the winter ice has receded. Leave with a deeper appreciation for one of Massachusetts' most important (and adorable) native species.
