Description
Without leaves to guide you, identifying trees in winter becomes unique challenge. Practice winter tree and shrub identification in the field, taking a close look at the buds, bark, and branching patterns that stay hidden the rest of the year.
Discuss the adaptations that carry various plant species through the coldest season, find out why those adaptations matter, and learn how planting for climate resilience starts with getting familiar with your local ecosystems. You will come away with improved ID skills and a greater appreciation for the winter landscape.
