Busy Beavers by the Boardwalk

Description

Broadmoor's wetlands are shaped in large part by a very fuzzy engineer—the beaver. Explore the sanctuary at golden hour for active and abandoned beaver lodges, search for signs like chewed stumps and dams, and learn how a single beaver family can transform an entire landscape.

As dusk approaches and beavers become more active, keep watch for the animals themselves as they swim through the marsh and fell branches for their winter food supply. You'll gain a deeper appreciation for one of Massachusetts' most important (and adorable) native species.
