Description
Almost all flowering plants depend on pollinating animals for their survival yet native pollinators such as bees, flies, beetles, and butterflies, are in decline as a result of human activity. We'll dissect a flower to see how pollination works. Then we'll search for some native pollinators and find out what actions we can take to increase their population.
Broad Meadow Brook's homeschool programs offer a friendly, cooperative learning environment for school-aged children! Each class will incorporate hiking and outdoor exploration, hands-on games and activities. Each class will promote observation of our local wildlife as an essential skill. At the end of all programs, students will receive follow-up information and activities so the learning can continue at home.
Classes will be held outdoors except for extreme inclement weather. Health forms are required for drop off students. Families are always welcome to remain at the sanctuary.
