Description
Love is in the air. In the gentle dusk of early spring, American Woodcocks gather in fields to perform an aerial courtship display that is a feast for the eyes and ears.
Learn about this peculiar member of the sandpiper family, then walk a short distance to watch and listen for the peenting calls, spiral flights, and flybys of courting males. The walk is timed to put you in the field as the light fades and the birds become active.
