Description
There is nothing quite like the taste of pure maple syrup from a freshly tapped tree.
This sweet New England tradition comes alive at the Boston Nature Center, where you can learn the art of tapping Sugar Maples, sip the clear sap straight from the trunk, and watch heat and time concentrate it into syrup. Visit various stations that cover the traditional techniques and modern equipment making sugaring possible across the region.
Maples give far more than syrup, and a self-guided storybook walk and scavenger hunt along the trails show how woodland wildlife depends on them all year too.
Come celebrate spring's sweetest ritual!

What To Expect
This is a drop-in festival, with stations and a self-guided trail walk running throughout the afternoon, both indoors and outside. Arrive whenever suits you.
The sanctuary trails are flat and fully accessible, though late March conditions can leave them muddy. In the event of severe weather conditions, the program may be cancelled or postponed.
More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
