Hotspot Birding at Squantum Point Park, Quincy

Description

Small in size but big on birds, Squantum Point Park is one of the top eBird hotspots in the Quincy area, and for good reason. Its mix of coastal habitats draws an impressive variety of winter visitors, including Common Eiders, Surf Scoters, and White-winged Scoters riding the water just offshore.

Take a relaxed guided walk along the 0.6-mile paved loop, with optional flat, unpaved side trails if you want to explore further.

All experience levels are welcome, with plenty to gain if you are looking to expand your coastal birding practice.

Checking registration status.

What To Expect

This program takes place and meets at Squantum Point Park in Quincy, not at the Boston Nature Center.

The route follows a 0.6-mile paved loop, with optional flat, unpaved side trails. The full program takes place outdoors in an exposed coastal setting that can be cold and windy in February. In the event of severe weather conditions, the program may be cancelled or postponed.

More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
