A Botany Year at Boston Nature Center: Winter (3 months)

Although you may think plants aren't doing much in winter, it's actually one of the best times to study trees. This three-month series at Boston Nature Center takes a closer look at these gentle giants, keeping you connected to plant life through the cold months.

December kicks off with tree medicine, exploring the healing traditions tied to bark, roots, and leaves. Then, we'll investigate twig and bud identification before closing with a deep look at bark and what it reveals about a tree's life and history.

Each session begins indoors before heading outside for at least 90 minutes of fieldwork on the sanctuary's trails, building real observation skills and connecting you with a community of curious fellow learners.
