Description
Stony Brook Reservation is one of West Roxbury's great green spaces—a mosaic of ponds, wetlands, and forest that supports a rich variety of bird life right within the city. A Boston Nature Center naturalist will guide you along a paved, relatively flat trail of approximately 1.2 miles, pointing out resident species and early fall migrants, like Red-shouldered Hawks and Cooper Hawks, along the way and teaching you to identify birds by their field marks, songs, and behaviors.
This welcoming walk is suited for all levels, from those picking up binoculars for the first time to experienced birders looking to add to their life list.
