Description
Every summer, Piping Plovers nest and raise their quick-stepping young along Boston's urban shoreline. A Boston Nature Center naturalist will guide you along the beach to observe plover chicks and nesting activity, while connecting you to Mass Audubon's shorebird monitoring efforts.
From there, explore the intertidal zone, scanning for shells, crabs, rocks, and other beach organisms at the water's edge. Along the way, learn how climate change is reshaping coastal environments and how you can support the protection of these remarkable birds.
