Description
Explore the expansive wetlands of Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord, where ducks, secretive rails, and bitterns share the marsh with hunting Bald Eagles. As spring progresses, watch for migrating birds arriving to join the resident species.
The refuge delivers exceptional birding year-round, with every visit revealing something different depending on the season, weather, and time of day.

Instructions
If you would like to carpool, meet us at the Boston Nature Center (BNC) at 7:30am sharp. At BNC, you can decide to carpool with others or get a seat in the Mass Audubon van (7 people max).
If you decide to meet us there, we will park in the lot off of Monsen Rd. in Concord (the larger lot at the end of the road, not the smaller one near the bathrooms). You will receive an email closer to the walk date with more information and to verify if you are carpooling or meeting there. Dress warmly and bring binoculars!
This program will be held outdoors, so please bring rain and cold weather gear as needed. In the case of inclement weather, every effort will be made to reschedule the event.
