Step into the golden glow of late summer on a guided hike celebrating one of nature's most common and important wildflowers, goldenrods! Discover the surprising history and fascinating ecology of these bright blooms, from their deep historical roots to the vital role they play in supporting pollinators. Along the way, we'll search for the many insects that depend on goldenrods and take time to appreciate the beauty they bring to fields, trailsides, and meadows. Perfect for curious naturalists and anyone who loves a colorful walk in nature.

Instructions

Participants will meet outside, in front of the Trailside Museum, located at Blue Hills Trailside Museum, 1904 Canton Ave, Milton, MA 02186. We will learn on the trail.

Dress appropriately for a hike and make sure to bring water. Trails are medium grade and can have parts that are steeper or have uneven terrain.

Museum admission is included in the program fee. Participants are welcome to explore the museum after the program has ended.
