Summer Tree Identification Hike

Venture into the summer-green forest and uncover the secrets of local trees on an educational nature hike. Learn how to identify different families and species by using field marks in summer and key features like leaves, bark, and branching patterns. With expert guidance, you'll sharpen your observation skills, turning every future walk in the woods into a deeper, more connected experience with the landscape.

Instructions

Participants will meet outside, in front of the Trailside Museum, located at Blue Hills Trailside Museum, 1904 Canton Ave, Milton, MA 02186. We will learn on the trail.

Dress appropriately for a hike and make sure to bring water. Trails are medium grade and can have parts that are steeper or have uneven terrain. Binoculars can be helpful for looking at leaves in the canopy (and any wildlife we happen to see) so feel free to bring them if you'd like.
