Protecting Snowy Owls

Description

Get an update on what has been happening with Snowy Owls in Massachusetts. Since 1981, Norman Smith has spent countless days and nights, in every imaginable weather condition, observing, capturing, banding, and color marking Snowy Owls at Logan International Airport. Data about their roosting, hunting, and behavior is also collected via satellite transmitters that have been attached to the rescued owls before they are released back to the wild. Find out what has been learned to date, what questions remain, and how this project continues to develop to protect Snowy Owls and other owl species.
