Hawks in the Blue Hills

Description

Every September, Chickatawbut Hill becomes a grandstand for one of nature's most spectacular events: hawk migration. The Norman Smith Environmental Education Center sits atop this hill and is not normally open to the public, making this a special opportunity to watch raptors and other migratory birds moving south from a unique vantage point.

Our naturalist will help participants identify hawk species, eagles, and other birds in flight while sharing the science and wonder of migration and the conservation threats birds face on their journeys. You'll also meet a live hawk animal ambassador up close from Blue Hills Trailside Museum.
