As twilight falls across the Blue Hills, the forest awakens with a whole new cast of characters. This early evening adventure invites families to explore nature's mysterious transition from day to night.
Led by our naturalists and field teachers, you'll venture along trails around the Trailside Museum as shadows deepen and nocturnal life stirs. Lift moss-covered logs to discover busy underworlds. Listen for owls calling from darkening treetops. From hidden critters to seasonal rhythms, experience the thrilling nightlife that most people never see.
Come discover what happens when the sun goes down and the wild wakes up.

Meet at the front of the Trailside Museum Gate, right by the bird feeders.
Public restrooms available outside of Trailside. Bring your own water.
Be prepared to get a little muddy or dirty as we investigate who is hanging out in the forest in the evening!
Some paths we may take include: Red dot loop, Wolcott Path, Puddle Path, and Carberry Path
